1950's

Marilyn J. (McIntyre) Johnson, '58 BSN, is APRN staff nurse at Crosby Good Samaritan Center in Crosby, ND, where she and her husband, James reside. Marilyn shares that she is a cancer survivor since chemotherapy and recovery. She is back working part time about twice a week.

Janice (Berg) Moore, '58 BSN, works half time as a transcriptionist at Boulder Community Hospital in Boulder, CO. Janice shares that "we travel, bike, hike and just returned from Morocco." Janice resides in Broomfield, CO.

1970's

Deborah S. (Draxton) Euren, '73 BS in Nursing, IBCLC, has been a staff RN with Quality Healthcare in Hillsboro, OR for 26 years. Deborah works with the birthcenter and lactation services. She was certified in 1999 as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and has recently been recertified for another five years.

Laural (Gidmark) Fisher, '74 BS in Nursing, '87 MS in Nursing (psychiatric/mental health) from Wayne University in Detroit, MI. She and her husband Dennis reside in Glen Ellyn, IL where Laural is a clinical nurse with MISA (mental illness substance abuse). She works in community psychiatry on a team of clinicians who treat the dually-diagnosed population - those with chronic mental illness and substance addiction. Laural would love to hear from UND grads (classes of '73 and '74) and especially anyone who practices in the area of psychiatric/mental health in the metro Chicago or elsewhere area.

Kerry (Papineau-Krabseth) Raghib, '76 BSN, is a certified nurse midwife at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND where she and her husband Gunay reside.

Nancy (Carpenter) Sherman, '76 BSN, is a RN Case Manager for special needs children at Texas Children's Hospital in Dickinson, TX. Nancy and her husband Curis Sherman, Jr. reside in Dickinson.

1980's

Marie (Brossart) Braaten, '80 BSN, MS (gerontological nursing from the University of MN) is a nurse practitioner at Fergus Falls Medical Group in Fergus Falls, MN. Marie and her husband Dave have two children.

Thomas J. Jurek, '80 BSN, is a family nurse practitioner at Sun Valley Medical Center in Cheyenne, WY where he and his wife Laura reside. Tom enjoys receiving his CONnections newsletter and hearing about the CON.

Brent D. Longtin, '82 BSN, is a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner and is the Owner/Operator/Consultant of English Rose Suites, an assisted living facility for memory loss residents in Edina, MN. In addition, Brent is a national consultant for psychiatric/behavioral health. Brent resides in Eden Prairie, MN.

Kimberly (Anderson) Haug, '83 BSN, resides in Grand Forks, ND, with her husband Forrest and their 18-year-old daughter (who is considering UND for college). Kimberly is employed with Altru Health System as a neonatal nurse practitioner and patient care supervisor in the NICU. She graduated from SDSU in 2004 with a MS and NNP specialization. She worked in the NICU for 21 years as a staff nurse and neonatal transport nurse before returning to school.

Robin (Keller) Bowlinger, '84 BSN, '91 MS, is an assistant professor at Medcenter One College of Nursing in Bismarck, ND. She teaches senior baccalaureate students Research & Redesign and Leadership & Management courses. Robin and her husband Paul have two children, Christian, age 7, and Chance, age 2. Robin and Paul reside in Bismarck.

Gwynn (Allen) Sorenson, '83 BS in Nursing, is a senior community health nurse in Florida. She and her husband Robert reside in Orange Park, FL.

Duane C. Jaeger, '84 BSN, MS, APRN, BC, is employed as Director, Behavioral Health Services with the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, Department of Veteran's Affairs in Wichita, KS. Duane works with clients with substance abuse, mental health, and the homeless.

Heidi Torkelsen, '84 BSN, works at Kaiser in Oakland, CA. She is CCRN certified, a full time Level III NICU nurse with her main role being an ALS nurse in Labor & Delivery especially high-risk and stabilizing the infant. Heidi recently embarked on the CETT program and is now a core trainer. CETT (Critical Events Training Team) is a rapid response team for high risk Labor & Delivery and NICU events with training on computerized Simulation Manikins in mega codes.

Angela (Lex) Burch Virgin, '87 BSN, works as a school nurse. She and her husband, John, reside in Iowa Park, TX.

Deb Filer, '89 MS, '01 PhD, is an associate professor at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN. Deb resides in Thief River Falls, MN.

1990's

Laurel Kappedal, '94 BSN, '04 MS (FNP from Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland, OR). Laurel works in Trauma and Orthopedics at Oregon Health and Science University Hospital. She is also assigned to the USAR 396 th Combat Support Hospital at Vancouver, WA as an Army Reserve Nurse Corps Captain and serves as the Company Commander for Bravo Company.

Nicole (Rhen) Riley, '95 BSN, is a NNP with the HealthEast Care System. Nicole received her advanced degree from the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, MN. She and her husband John reside in Hugo, MN with their two children: Molly, 6 years, and Sullivan, 4 years.

Lea (Hummel) Floberg, '96 BSN, '03 MS, is a family nurse practitioner at the Richardton Memorial Hospital and Health Center in Richardton, ND. The facility is a 25-bed critical access hospital and emergency room. The medical staff consists of one physician and herself. Lea shares that working in a rural area can be challenging at times, but always very rewarding. She and her husband Bryan have three children: Spencer age 8, Preston age 3, and Shelby age 4.

Jeannie Bessett, '97 BSN, is a RN with the Scottsdale HealthCare, Shea campus. She and her husband, James, reside in Gilbert, AZ.

Chris, '98 BS in Nursing, and Kelli (Jelsing) Erickson, '98 BSN, '02 FNP, live in Milwaukee, WI. Kelli is working as a FNP for the Milwaukee County Jail. Chris is in his fourth year at Marquette Dental School. He formally worked at Abbott Northwestern Hospital ICU in Minneapolis, MN. Chris and Kelly were married in 2002 and are looking forward to moving back to Minnesota after dental school.

Megan Wroblewski, '98 BSN, is a cardiology RN at the University of Minnesota. Megan wants to recognize UND for the opportunities it provided her: she has done travel nursing and a medical mission to Guatemala. Megan resides in Minneapolis.

Shane & Mandy (Jessen) Johnson, both '99 BSN, reside in Dilworth, MN with one son and they are expecting a second child. Mandy graduated as a FNP in May 2004 from Minnesota State University, Moorhead and is currently a FNP at the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo. Jason works as a Ratings Specialist at the Dept. of Veteran's Affairs Regional Office.

Jill (Lerfald) Muth, '99 BSN, is working as a CNP with Queen City Medical Center in Spearfish, SD. Jill received a MS in Nursing in 2002 from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. She and her husband Justin were expecting their first baby this past January.

April Olson, '99 BSN, is a certified physician assistant at Orthopedic Consultants Alvine Foot and Ankle Clinic in Sioux Falls, SD. She graduated in 2002 with a MS in Physician Assistant Sciences from St. Francis University in Loretto, PA. April resides in Sioux Falls.

2000's

Rachael (McKim) Ives, '00 BSN, previously worked as a RN in the St. Joseph Hospital ER in Tucson, AZ. She is currently a very happy housewife and stay at home mother to Jordyn Elizabeth, now 2 years old. Her husband, Jason, is a flight instructor for the Air Force, they are currently stationed at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX.

Mary R. (McGreevy) Lynn, '00 BS in Nursing, is a RN at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND where she specializes in general and heart surgery.

Andrea Athmann-Luksik, '02 BS in Nursing, is a RN, PHN, with the White Earth Home Health Agency in White Earth, MN. She and her husband, Jason, have an 18-month-old son, Gavin.

Amy R. (Tubridy) Fankhanel, '02 BS in Nursing, is a staff nurse with Hospice of the Red River Valley in Fargo, ND. She and her husband, J.J., are proud parents of a new baby and are moving into a new home they built.

Mary Froehlich, '02 MS, is a geriatric nurse practitioner at Prairie Medical Associates in Morris, MN. Mary resides in Alexandria, MN.

Crystal G. Peltier, '02 BSN, is employed as a clinical nurse at the Red Lake Indian Health Service. Crystal works inpatient with MS & pediatric patients and also the UC/ER noc shift. Crystal resides in Red Lake, MN.

Deanna Miller, '02 BSN, is a RN on the Antepartum Unit (high risk pregnancies) at St. Lakes Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID. Deanna resides in Boise.

Barb Boguslawski, '03 MS, is Nurse Educator of Professional Development at Altru Health System in Grand Forks, ND. She is primarily responsible for the Nurse Mentor Program, New Nursing Orientation, bedside staff development, recruitment, and development of a patient care delivery model. Barb and her husband Daniel reside in Grand Forks with their three pomeranians.

Laura Kelsven, '03 BS in Nursing, is a registered nurse with Merit Care Orthopedics in Fargo, ND. She and her fiancé Chad DeSmith will be married July 2005.

Amy (Tallackson) Suda, '03 BSN, works flex time as a RN at Unity Medical Center in Grafton, ND and in the Same Day Surgery Department at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Amy shares that she was recently accepted to the Doctoral Program at UND and started in May 2005. Amy and her husband John reside in Grafton.

Cindy Brigande, ' 03 BSN, is a RN working full time in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Level I NICU at Community General Hospital, Syracuse NY. Cindy, her husband Mike, and 2 children live in Baldwinsville NY.
