Dean's Welcome
It is with pleasure that I welcome you to the University of North Dakota for the 2012-2013 academic year. Please explore the many educational programs that the College offers in nursing, nutrition, dietetics and social work. The University of North Dakota has a rich 100 year-old history so I invite you to acquaint yourself with this great institution. The College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines includes the following departments: Undergraduate Nursing, Graduate Nursing, Nutrition & Dietetics (N&D) and Social Work. The College has a wonderful reputation both at the undergraduate and graduate level. We are proud of all of our clinical programs that have had a strong history of successful pass rates at or above the national average.
Congratulations on embarking on your new career in nursing with us. You are entering an exciting time in the delivery of health care and your experiences with us will provide the opportunities you need to develop your nursing career and future. During your studies in the College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines you will be exposed to challenging courses, exceptional faculty and wonderful mentors. The faculty and staff are here to support your program of study and will assist you with all the phases of your academic journey.
The College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines consists of over 1400 students from all of our departments. Our new academic year (2012-2013) brings exciting changes to assist you as a new or continuing student. We have a new Office of Student services that will provide improved customer service for our students. This office will assist students with admission, academic counseling, progression and graduation information. We have added staff to our Clinical Resource and Simulation Center (CRSC) so that all students can learn additional skills for safe clinical practice. Lastly, we have redesigned our service models in our Business Office, Undergraduate and Graduate Offices and Office of Research to better meet the needs of our students, faculty and colleagues. All of our re-envisoned organizational units within the College are here to serve your needs.
