Welcome to the Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Programs website at the University of North Dakota. Thank you for taking the time to explore our educational offerings.
The purpose of the PMH specialization is to increase the number of nurses prepared as advanced psychiatric and mental health clinical nurse specialists (PMH-CNS) or as advanced psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioners (PMH-NP).
Upon completion of the requirements for the PMH-CNS or PMH-NP programs, graduates are eligible to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification examination and obtain prescriptive privileges to care for the psychiatric and mental health of adults. For individuals who already have a Master’s Degree in Nursing, we offer Post Master’s Certificates for both PMH-CNS and the PMH-NP.
For more information about an advanced degree in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, please view the side links. We would love to hear from you!
