OSHA / HIPAA Training

OSHA

OSHA training is handled in the appropriate classroom/course with a presentation and short test. Faculty will provide a compliance/completion report to Beth Toay, Nursing Building Rm #302.

HIPAA

HIPAA Training is completed by accessing a WebInservice Learning System. The login page for Institutional and College of Nursing compliance for HIPAA is accessed through a link at the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS).

  • Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla Firefox 3 or higher on a PC is highly recommended.
  1. Go to or Click the following link: http://www.med.und.edu/academicaffairs/hipaa/

  2. Click HIPAA Training (left side of screen)

  3. Click web link: HIPAA Training

  4. Enter Learner ID - which is your student ID (without the w) or emplID.

  5. Password will be hello

  6. Click Secure Login. This will open the HIPAA lesson plans available (top right of page )

  7. Click HIPAA Basic Overview.

  8. Read the information pages (using Previous Page/Next Page buttons).

  9. Click Test when you are ready to take the test. Retake the exam as many times as needed to achieve a 100% pass score.

  10. There is no need to print your certificates unless you wish to for your own purposes.
    A group report will be available to nursing faculty.
