Big Sky Undergraduate Journal
Deadline: March 20, 2013
The Big Sky Conference is pleased to announce the creation of the Big Sky Undergraduate Journal. Established by the Faculty Athletic Representatives Council and the Presidents Council, the Journal seeks to increase the emphasis on academic success within the Conference.
While numerous academic collaboration vehicles were discussed, the Conference elected to focus on promoting opportunities for undergraduate students to become involved in scholarly research activities. The Big Sky Conference believes that an online undergraduate research journal that contains articles addressing the myriad of issues related to intercollegiate athletics is an appropriate academic vehicle to foster inter-institutional cooperation and afford students a career-enhancing scholarly venue for research papers.
Full-member institutions are limited to two (2) submissions to the Journal. Affiliate members are limited to one (1) submission. All submissions will be published in the journal.
All institutions may submit one (1) piece of artwork for a "Cover Contest". The Conference Office will form a committee to determine the winner. Honorable Mention for artwork may be awarded with publication only.
Any athletically-related topic in any discipline will be accepted. Style must be in the style of the academic discipline of the article. Articles are limited to a 2,500 word narrative. Charts, graphs or other visual aids used in the article are exempted from the total.
Submission of Articles
Determination and review of submissions to the Journal will be left to the discretion of each institution. It is recommended that such review involve the Faculty Athletic Representative of the institution.
All articles should be submitted as a PDF to the Conference Office via the Faculty Athletics Representative.
Submission to Sue Jeno, PT, PhD: March 20, 2013
Submissions due to the Conference Office: April 1, 2013
