Glenda LindsethGlenda Lindseth, PhD, RN, FADA, CNS

Dr. Lindseth serves as the Director of Research for the College of Nursing at theUniversity of North Dakota. Her research focuses on GI disorders and the nutritional implications. Studies have included airsickness in pilots, morning sickness during pregnancy, and nausea and vomiting related to cholelithiasis within at-risk populations. Primary research funding sources have included the National Institutes of Health (NIH), North Dakota EPSCoR, the Department of Defense and the Retirement Research Foundation. Dr. Lindseth serves as a consultant/reviewer for the NIH, American Dietetic Association and other organizations.

Professional: Brian is currently working on a nutritional study funded by the Department of Defense (Nutritional Effects on Cognition and Flight Performance).  His duties include data entry and analysis, maintaining updated financial records, paying bills related to the DOD grant project, assisting in grant writing activities, assisting in the preparation of reports and official correspondence and maintaining confidential records related to the DOD grant project.  Previously, Brian worked at Northeast Human Service Center in Grand Forks, ND.  Duties included maintaining office supplies, transcription, preparing and mailing official correspondence, and maintenance of some office machines.  Education: Brian graduated from Central High School in Grand Forks in 1993.  Brian hold two degrees from the University of North Dakota, earning a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Public Administration in 1998 and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration in 2000. Personal: Brian lives in Grand Forks and enjoys sports, politics and current events, reading, writing and video games.

Deb is currently working on a research project with Dr. Glenda Lindseth, PhD, RN, FADA, CNS, looking at the nutritional effects on cognition and flight performance. Deb also works with the Nutrition and Dietetics Department faculty in various teaching capacities. Her diverse employment history includes being an owner of a private nutrition consulting business that served both acute and long-term care facilities. Her research interests include Diabetes, Childhood/Adolescent Nutrition, Weight Maintenance, and Nutritional Interventions. Debra was awarded the 2004 NDDA Emerging Dietitian of the Year presented by the American Dietetic Association. Her publications include: Lindseth, G., Ye, F., Petros,T., Fossum, D. (2006) “Effects of Aspartame Consumption on Cognitive Function” pending approval Midwest Nursing Research Society. Deb earned a B.S. in Food and Nutrition from North Dakota State University.
